Reverend Paul L. Holte has been the Senior Pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church since September 2004. Pastor Holte was born in the Dakotas, the son of a pastor and a nurse, and was raised in small towns and large cities throughout the Upper Midwest, East Coast, and West Coast. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts and English from Dickinson College, Dickinson, North Dakota in 1970, and a Master of Divinity degree from Luther Seminary in 1974. He began his ordained ministry in the Pacific Northwest, and has served parishes in Washington, North Dakota, and Wisconsin. He has been a Student Pastor, Intern Pastor, Associate Pastor, Youth Pastor, Education Pastor, Solo Pastor, Camp Pastor, Supply Pastor, Interim Pastor, and Senior Pastor. Writing and preaching are two of his great loves. He has written religious dramas and other material for the church. He enjoys all aspects of communication--speaking, writing, reading, music, theatre, and the arts. Some of his favorite activities include playing guitar and singing; running; hiking and camping; traveling; reading theology and science fiction; watching films and attending the theatre; writing journals; repairing and building things; doing yard work; dining with friends; and spending time with his beloved family. Pastor Paul and his wife, Robin, share a love for music--they met while they were both singing in the Monteverdi Master Chorale. Robin works as a Registered Nurse in the Fox Valley area. They have three children. The oldest attends classes in Stevens Point; the others are still at home. The Holtes make their home in the Town of Menasha, and enjoy the wonderful opportunities the Valley has to offer. Recent accomplishments include: portraying Martin Luther on Reformation Day 2004; preaching a sermon series for Advent 2004 called “PRAY: Praise / Realign / Ask / Yield”; directing an original seven-part drama series for Lent 2005 called “The Hidden Prince: The Gospel In Fairy Tale Format”; writing a new-format autobiography called “Old ’55”; creating a banner for the “Deep and Wide” fall 2005 sermon series; and competing in the 2005 Fox Cities Marathon. He is presently working on developing a children’s drama series on “Bowser the Wonder Dog,” and a Lent series on “Christ In The Arts.” Pastor Paul has a great passion for all aspects of ministry. He is intensely interested in the things that make a significant difference in people’s lives. He looks forward to sharing and getting better acquainted with you and others!
