Music

Music is an integral part of the spiritual, social, and artistic life of St. Paul’s congregation.  Opportunities abound for children, youth, and adults to “make a joyful noise” and praise God through the gift of music.  Performing groups are available for both vocal and instrumental participation.  For more information about joining a music group at St. Paul, contact Marillyn Freeman, organist and Director of Music Ministries, or Eric Ihde, Sanctuary and Bell Choir Director.

Youth Musicals

Each spring, the Youth Choirs and the Crusader and High School choirs prepare and perform a musical, presenting a message of their Faith and God’s goodness. These musicals combine singing (both solos and group), narrations, choreography, costumes, scenery, and an accompanying orchestra.  The musicals are presented to our congregation. The Crusader and High School musical is also used as a vehicle for evangelism and is presented to several congregations around the state.

Instrumental Groups

Instrumentalists at St. Paul can participate in a number of groups.  Solos, and small and large instrumental groups are used frequently to add to our Sunday and Holiday worship experiences.  Brass, woodwinds, percussion, and string musicians are encouraged to perform.  Musicians of all ages combine for fellowship and meaningful expression of their Faith.  Special groups include a Middle School orchestra, which performs for the Sunday School Christmas program, and wind and string groups who are used monthly to accompany the “Now the Feast” Communion liturgy.

Soul Lift

Soul Lift is a contemporary worship group who lead Sunday services on a regular basis.  Familiar folk and Christian rock songs are used during the service and are accompanied by keyboard, bass, and guitars.  The Soul Lift services are enjoyed by worshippers of all ages.
