At St. Paul Lutheran Church, mission and ministry are not separate endeavors—they are inseparable expressions of God’s love. Grounded in Jesus’ call to “Love God and love people” (Matthew 22:37–39), we believe that faith is most alive when it is lived out in relationship with others.
Our mission flows from worship into daily life. We seek to be a presence of hope and compassion on Doty Island, throughout the Fox Cities, and beyond. Whether it is through feeding the hungry, clothing our neighbors, offering companionship to the lonely, or walking alongside those in need, we strive to embody Christ’s love in tangible ways.
Ministry at St. Paul is shared by all of us—staff, members, and friends—who together make up the body of Christ. Each person has unique gifts to offer, and when those gifts are joined in service, God multiplies them for the sake of the world. From local partnerships and community outreach to national and global connections through the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), we are committed to serving boldly, giving generously, and loving unconditionally.
Our mission statement guides us in this work:
Gather Joyfully as a worshiping community, giving thanks for God’s presence among us.
Grow Spiritually through study, prayer, and acts of service that deepen our faith.
Go Faithfully into the world, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ in word and deed.
At St. Paul, mission and ministry are not programs we do—they are who we are. We invite you to join us in discovering the joy and purpose of living out God’s love together.
A cupboard on a pole... unexpected blessings for people who need a little help. The St. Paul Blessing Box is in front of St. Paul church near the Commercial St. bus stop (Valley Transit). Our team stocks this box three times each week with easy-to-prepare or no-prep food items as well as personal hygiene items, clothing items (socks, hats, scarfs, gloves) and bottled water. These items are free for the taking and contributions are collected by various community members and congregations.
Our quilt ministry is very active with hundreds of quilts being distributed since the ministry's inception in 2015 primarily through Lutheran World Relief. Quilts are also gifted and prayed over specifically for individual's who may receive them in times of sickness, healing, and baptism.
We partner with Lutheran World Relief to assemble School Kits and Personal Care Kits—simple yet powerful expressions of God’s love in action. School Kits equip children (and sometimes adults) with notebooks, pencils, crayons, rulers, backpacks, and other essentials so learning can continue even in the midst of crises. Personal Care Kits, filled with items like towels, soap, toothbrushes, combs, and nail clippers, bring dignity, hygiene, and hope to those facing disaster or displacement. Through this ministry, our congregation stands with neighbors near and far, showing that even small gestures can make a world of difference.
Knit2gether is a group of knitters and crocheters, meets weekly at St. Paul to work on projects of all sorts. They craft projects that include Prayer Squares, chemo caps, winter hats, mittens, scarves, and other items.
At St. Paul, our Shoe Collection Ministry is a heartfelt act of stewardship and service—partnering with Funds2Orgs and the Community Clothes Closet to bless our neighbors near and far. Through this initiative, your gently worn, new, or lightly used shoes are collected and sent to Funds2Orgs, where they are transformed into both financial support for our mission and vital inventory for micro-entrepreneurs in developing nations, fostering sustainability and new livelihoods. Together, this ministry is more than shoe collection—it’s living out Christ’s call to serve, share, and care for creation and community in meaningful ways.
Fox Valley Community Table (FVCT) is a free meal site located in the lower level of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Neenah. We serve lunch every Tuesday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. All who are seeking food and community are welcome; no questions asked. No income or residency requirements.
Mission & Ministry go hand in hand at St. Paul Lutheran, as we believe strongly in Jesus' mandate to Love God and Love People. Our Mission Team accompanies the congregation seeking ways where we may strive to be presence in our neighborhood, community, nation, and world, feeding, clothing, and loving God's people. This team also provides grants for new projects that seek to expand our mission into the community.
We believe that we are called to be in partnership with organizations in our community who are doing amazing work serving others. Throughout the year we support several area non-profit organizations financially and physically.
Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is the largest hunger-relief organization in the state, connecting a network of food banks and programs across 35 counties to deliver nutritious meals where they’re needed most. They work with donors, volunteers, and partners to turn hunger into hope, helping families, children, and seniors find food security and dignity. At St. Paul, we volunteer several times a year packing food for distribution.
Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity partners with hardworking local families to build and repair safe, affordable homes—blending volunteer labor and sweat equity with training and financial education. Their impact extends through neighborhood revitalization and their ReStore, which sells donated home goods to fund housing and promote sustainability. St. Paul members have supported this ministry by providing meals to volunteers at various house build projects.
HeadsUp Fox Cities empowers transitional-age youth—especially those aging out of foster care—by offering them individualized support, advocacy, and resources that help them thrive on their own terms. Led by individuals with lived experience, they guide youth toward independence through mentorship, housing assistance, life-skills development, and resource navigation. We support their mission by providing meals for their weekly Community Meal.
