At St. Paul, we believe faith is a lifelong journey—one that begins in childhood, is nurtured through youth, and continues to grow and deepen throughout our lives. Each step along the way shapes how we live, love, and serve in our daily lives.
Faith formation for children and youth is at the heart of our ministry. We provide opportunities for learning, worship, service, and fellowship that meet young people where they are and help them discover how God is active in their lives. From the joy of children’s messages in worship to engaging faith formation classes, youth Confirmation, service projects, and intergenerational experiences, we encourage curiosity, creativity, and community.
We know that children and youth are not the “future of the church”—they are the church today. Their voices, questions, and gifts enrich our life together as a congregation. In partnership with families, we walk alongside young people as they grow in faith, equipping them to follow Jesus and live out God’s unconditional love in the world.
Participation in weekly Faith Formation time gives the church body an opportunity to help you keep baptismal promises and raise children who grow in relationship with God.
Our Sunday School is called Growing In Faith Together (G.I.F.T.). This special learning experience is held each Sunday after Worship from 10:45 to 11:15 AM. Children of all ages, gifts and talents are invited to this Faith Formation time.
Our Confirmation (Affirmation of Baptism) program continues to be time for youth to affirm their personal connection to their baptismal promises by growing a deeper understanding of what Christian living looks like and practicing different tools for Christian living in a safe environment. Each year, the process is reviewed and revised to meet this goal. We expect students to wrestle with their faith beliefs, ask tough questions and explore their thinking to find answers.
There is no deadline or age limit for confirmation! Youth affirm their baptism (are confirmed) when they understand, agree with the beliefs of Christian living, and are ready to take the next step in their faith journey.
St. Paul joins the other three ELCA congregations in Neenah to hold a joint VBS each summer. Children from preschool through 6th grade are invited to share in a week of stories, songs, play, and more.
