Music is one of the richest ways many experience God’s presence and proclaim the Gospel together. At St. Paul, music an addition to worship that helps shape our prayers, lifts our spirits, and draw us deeper into community with one another and with God.
Our Sanctuary Choir, Handbell Choir, and guest musicians all play a vital role in leading worship. Whether through the soaring voice of the organ, the ringing of handbells, or the harmony of voices joined together, music enriches our life of faith and helps us embody the joy of worship.
Everyone is welcome to participate in our ensembles. You don’t need to be a professional singer or reader of music—just bring an open heart and a willingness to learn. We’ll walk with you, celebrate your gifts, and make space for you to share in this ministry of music.
Our Sanctuary Choir practices on Thursday evenings from 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and helps to lead worship on most Sundays during the school year. The choir is open to interested people in 8th grade or above. Throughout the year the choir also collaborates with other local church musicians such as for an Ecumenical Thanksgiving Eve service (pictured above).
Our Handbell Choir practices on Thursday evenings from 6:15 - 7:15 p.m and participates in worship about once per month. Ringing handbells has more to do with rhythm and timing than it does about reading the complete musical score. We are open to all who want to learn rhythm reading skills and ringing techniques.
Instrumentalists are always welcome to offer their music during worship! We have a small group of instrumentalists that play each Sunday as well as larger instrumental ensembles that play for Christmas Eve and Easter.
